The Athletic Shoulder (ASH) test measures isometric shoulder strength in three positions. In professional rugby players it proved highly reliable and quick enough for routine monitoring and return-to-play decisions.
Strength tests miss part of the picture in collision athletes. This study found three force-plate tests (countermovement push-up, press jump and drop box land) reliable and distinct from isokinetic strength.
