This course provides a practical, evidence-based framework for the early stages of ACL reconstruction rehabilitation. Participants will learn strategies to restore range of motion, address arthrogenic muscle inhibition (AMI), and implement safe early loading while maintaining global conditioning and movement quality. The session also covers psychosocial considerations, patient-centered communication, and the effective use of technology to guide, not replace, clinical decision-making.
Learning Points:
1. Identify the four main priorities in early post-op ACL rehab and ensure every intervention addresses at least one.
2. Apply range of motion strategies that minimize inflammatory response and protect the therapeutic relationship.
3. Understand and address AMI using both peripheral and central mechanisms, with practical tools such as NMES, BFR, and eccentric training.
4. Implement early loading in a safe, measurable way using objective data to guide progression.
5. Leverage technology effectively to enhance decision-making without replacing clinical reasoning.
6. Incorporate psychosocial considerations into early rehab to build trust, improve adherence, and support long-term outcomes.
