Charlie Goodchild
Charlie has developed a broad skillset by spending time in sports medicine, private healthcare, occupational health and as a medical consultant in the insurance industry. Skilled in complex cases, persistent/chronic pain, exercise prescription/rehabilitation, sports injuries, and post-operative rehabilitation. He spent 5 years at Pure Sports Medicine including time as the Lead Physiotherapist, with a focus on clinical development and mentorship.
Charlie’s passion lies in helping people work through a challenging rehabilitation journey to make a return to sport or to achieve a goal that once seemed out of reach. He uses Strength & Conditioning principles to optimise rehabilitation and to motivate behaviour change aimed at longevity and maximising the health and fitness of his clients.
Charlie has a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Physiotherapy (2010) and a Bachelor of Science (BSc hons) degree (2008) in Sport and Exercise Science, both completed at University of Essex.
Charlie worked for The FA for 10 years, during which time he represented various England teams as a physiotherapist in 89 international fixtures. He also spent time working at Saracens Rugby Club, Essex County Rugby and Barking Rugby Club, giving Charlie a wealth of experience in Sports Medicine helping athletes return to play at the highest level.
Outside of work, Charlie enjoys spending time with his wife and two young children, he loves to read and will play any sport he has the time for, he played rugby for 15 years and since retiring, mostly spends his exercise time running, cycling and going to the gym.
