I am an assistant professor in the States. I am going to be teaching about 5 hours of exercise. Does anyone have suggestions on resources, areas of focus, etc.? I'm trying to teach a generalist approach because it'll be a focus on all disciplines of physical therapy; not just MSK.

Hi Tyler, awesome!
The interview with Nick Tuminello on this website and the lecture by Claire Minshull could help you perhaps?
What are exactly your topics?

@smash karts, I really like the idea of taking a holistic approach to exercise training, and it would be great to have more material on how to plan and tailor programs for individual patient groups!

It sounds like a great opportunity to teach a well-rounded course for future physical therapists. A generalist approach is essential since physical therapy encompasses such diverse disciplines, including neurological, cardiopulmonary, and musculoskeletal rehabilitation. For resources, consider incorporating case studies or real-life scenarios from each specialty, along with evidence-based guidelines. Interactive elements, like group discussions or hands-on exercises, can help reinforce the material. Additionally, integrating concepts of time management, such as the 4000 weeks poster could encourage students to reflect on how they prioritize their time in both their personal and professional lives. This could serve as a reminder to balance long-term career goals with short-term patient care needs.
