Francesco Bettariga

Francesco Bettariga (BSc, MSc, PhD Candidate), graduated Cum Laude in Physiotherapy and later completed a Master of Science in Strength and Conditioning with distinction at the prestigious Middlesex University in London.

 

He is currently a researcher at the renowned Edith Cowan University (Perth, Western Australia) within the Exercise Medicine Research Institute, where he is pursuing his PhD in Exercise Medicine. His research focuses on exploring the mechanisms underlying the benefits of exercise for patients with cancer. Specifically, he investigates how exercise can suppress the growth of cancer cells, contributing to a reduced risk of cancer progression and mortality.

Francesco has authored and co-authored several scientific articles and presented at multiple international conferences on the topic of Exercise Medicine.

In addition to his work in oncology, Francesco is also involved in research related to sports rehabilitation and athletic conditioning. In clinical practice, he applies his expertise to both athletic populations and individuals with specific health conditions, including cancer. Francesco works particularly with patients and survivors of cancer, aiming to help them improve their quality of life during and after their illness.
